What does the outpatient consultation fee cover?
A comprehensive eye examination is covered in the fee. Other additional tests & treatment such as nasolacrimal examination & syringing, & excision of simple eye lid lesions will incur an additional fee.
What does my circle fixed price self pay surgical fee cover?
The fee covers the surgical procedure, hospital admission & one follow up appointment.

How do I pay for my clinic appointment?
You will receive an invoice after the appointment through the post. The bill can be paid by BACS or Cheque. Terms are 30 days from the date of the invoice.
Do I need an authorisation code before my outpatient consultation?
If you are using your insurance provider to fund treatment you should contact them for each attendance to confirm cover. Procedure codes for surgery required will be confirmed following clinic appointments.
How long will my consultation be?
A new patient consultation will last approximately 30 minutes. A follow-up appointment will last approximately 15 minutes.
Can I drive after my surgery?
Do not drive until your eye is comfortable & you can read a number plate at 20m (See DVLA guidelines).
Can I drive to my clinic appointment?
It is best to get a lift as it is likely dilating drops will be instilled in your eyes to dilate the pupils. These can affect your vision & take several hours to wear off.
How long has Mr Knapp been a Consultant in Lincoln?
Mr Knapp has been an NHS consultant at the Lincoln County Hospital since 2007. He has practiced at the Lincoln Hospital (formerly the BMI / Bromhead Hospital) since 2009.
Do I need a referral letter to attend a clinic appointment?
Although helpful, referral letters from a general practitioner or optometrist are not required for clinic appointments, unless as a requirement of an insurance provider; however, should you require YAG laser treatment and wish to take advantage of the one-stop clinic session an optician referral will be required. Please note that some insurance providers will not accept patients being seen at a one-stop session. You should check with your provider prior to arranging an appointment.
